“Finding Maya was sincerely such a gift. I had wanted to do a boudoir photoshoot for a while and knew I wanted to work with a queer femme photographer (and I’m so glad I did). Maya struck an incredible balance between empowering my own creativity while using her professional expertise to bring it all to life through an outdoor, stripped-down series.

Beyond her obvious talent for photography, she has such a magical capacity to dive into the vision and attend to both micro nuances and big picture details. She was unbelievably prepared with location ideas, posing suggestions, color palette ideas, etc beforehand but was also quick to adapt, think with me, and be playful in the moment. Maya also is deeply attuned to body positioning and how various movements flow and translate in a photo. She offered gentle, confident, and consent-forward direction on how to pose in a way that made me feel relaxed and empowered to listen to my own body/creative voice.

The photos themselves are phenomenal, but the process of doing this stripped-down session was genuinely quite transformative.

I also worked with Maya for a professional headshot session and was yet again completely bowled over by her attention to detail, knowledge of different photo locations, preparation, and just the sheer comfortability she brought to the whole process.”
